GoodWe inverter repairs
GoodWe inverters are a complicated piece of equipment so it’s essential that they are repaired by Clean Energy Council Accredited Electricians.
At Service My Solar, we use a thorough GoodWe inverter service procedure to ensure your inverter is repaired quickly, correctly and in the most cost-effective way.
In most cases, after our specially-trained technicians visit your property and inspect your inverter, they will source replacement parts from the manufacturer, repair the faulty parts themselves or recommend a new inverter should that be a more cost effective solution.
In any situation, we’ll put your inverter through a number of performance and safety tests before it’s signed off and returned to duty in your home.
While strict safety and labour standards keep the quality of our repairs high, Service My Solar’s national coverage and strong manufacturer relationships keep prices down.
GoodWe common faults / problems
Essentially, the two popular models in Australia are the NS and D-NS which can be monitored by:
Power light is yellow
- If the power light is solid, it means it’s on and the Wi-Fi is connected.
- If it’s blinking fast, it means it’s on but the Wi-Fi is resetting.
- If it blinks twice, goes off, and cycles in this manner, you may have a Wi-Fi router issue, but not an inverter issue.
- If it stays solid, goes off, comes back solid and cycles this way, then you may have a Wi-Fi server problem, but not an inverter issue.
- No power light can mean you have left the Wi-Fi option inactive.
The run light is green
- It should always be on and solid to reflect that the inverter is feeding power.
- If there is no run light, check the solar supply main switch located in your meter box. If all isolators are on, then you may have a fault with your system.
The fault light is red
- If this is on, it can also mean there is an issue with your system. You should firstly attempt a reset.
- If you have no luck with the reset, get in touch to discuss a potential warranty claim.
If the system has a run light and no fault light but you think it may not be performing as it should, we recommend that you monitor your yield or book a general system health check.
Monitor your GoodWe inverter
On the right of the screen is an arrow button you can use to scroll the menu. To scroll through the menu, don’t hold the button for too long or it will move to the “second level menu”, which isn’t necessary for yield monitoring. So using just quick presses, it will move the menu from its status – i.e. “normal” – to “E-today”. This is your daily production in units. As such, it’s best to take this late in the afternoon, right before the unit shuts down for the night.
If you gather this daily, reading for a few days in succession, we can compare this to other local yields and advise you if we think there is a problem with the production.
