Are you experiencing problems with your Fronius inverter?
We have been installing Fronius inverters since 2008 and overall, our experience has been very positive. Compared with other inverters on the market, the fault occurrence is much lower than the industry average. With this in mind, we happily recommend them to our customers. In the event your Fronius inverter happens to be one of those rare cases where a fault develops, the following advice may help.
Troubleshooting Fronius inverter faults
Fault codes for Fronius inverter will vary across the range. Please check which model of Fronius inverter you have installed.
Fronius IG inverters can produce state 104, state 302 or state 443 fault codes, which are commonly repairable by exchanging the internal AC board.
Snap series Fronius Primo and Fronius Symo inverters may produce state 461 or state 457 fault codes. These indicate your inverter may just need a software update which is easily done by downloading the update onto a USB. If you are unfamiliar with this kind of procedure, simply fill out the form below to make an appointment for one of our friendly technicians to complete the update for you.
If your Fronius inverter is producing a fault code that’s not mentioned above it’s possible your entire unit may need to be replaced under warranty.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Even if you aren’t a current Solargain customer, we can assist with warranty exchanges and repairs. You will just need to provide us with:
A copy of your proof of purchase, to show that the inverter was installed within the last five years.
All of the installation details.
The inverter serial number.
We will lodge the warranty claim on your behalf, then once we receive the replacement inverter (or gain approval to release one that we already have in stock) we will contact you to arrange installation.
What if my Fronius inverter is out of warranty?
Even if your inverter is no longer covered by warranty we can still help. There’s a chance your unit may still be repairable, in which case you will be responsible for the cost of the replacement parts. Parts that we can order and replace include:
the AC board
the DC board
the internal fan
If it becomes apparent that multiple parts need replacing and if your budget allows for it, we may recommend you consider replacing your whole unit as this may be a more affordable option.
