F-00 fault – Sharp JH1600E inverter

What is an F-00 fault?

An F-00 fault is indicative of excessive grid voltage levels. Start by verifying the position of the solar supply main switch located in the meter box. If it is on, contact Service My Solar to have a professional electrician inspect your system.

Is an F-00 fault covered by my warranty or home insurance?

F-00 fault are not well covered under Sharp’s manufacturer warranty: the claim process involves disconnecting your inverter, shipping it to a specialized service center in Sydney and waiting for Sharp to investigate the issue before they make a decision on its eligibility as a warrantable fault, which can take up to 4 weeks. In addition to the inverter downtime losses, the repairs may cost you a substantial amount of money if the fault isn’t covered. It often works out cheaper to purchase a new inverter altogether.

How do I fix an F-00 fault?

Service My Solar can help you return the faulty unit to Sharp to get it fixed or replaced if that’s what you want to do. Nevertheless, we recommend replacing it with an inverter of similar size (1.5 kW) such as the Fronius Galvo 1.5, which we find is an excellent substitute with a great warranty.

You might want to consider taking this opportunity to upgrade to an inverter of higher capacity.

Service My Solar can assist you either way. Dial 1300 496 278 or fill out the form below to get in contact.
